Casey Anthony Files for Bankruptsy

Casey Anthony filed Chapter 7 this past Friday in a Florida court.

Anthony who has no income says she owes approximately $800,000 to about 80 creditors.

Among her debts:

• $500,000 to lead defense attorney Jose Baez
• $145,660 to the Orange County Sheriff's Office
• $68,540 to the IRS

Tina Turner to Become a Swiss Citizen

Tina Turner has decided to renounce her U.S. citizenship to become a citizen of Switzerland.

Turner has been living in Zurich since the mid 90s.

Switzerland officials have already decided to grant Turner's request for citizenship.

Dwight Leaving The Lakers

According to Laker reporter Mike Bresnahan, a man who spends everyday of every week following and covering the team, Dwight Howard staying with the Lakers after this season isn't looking very promising.

Of course this is one reporter giving his opinion but again he's right there in the trenches with them.

Howard will be a free agent at the end of the season with the ability to sign with any team he desires.

There's also talk of blowing up the team and trading away future Hall of Fame players.

Not looking good in Laker-town.

They'll eventually figure things out. They always do!

Dwight Howard Re-Injures Right Shoulder

Los Angeles starting center Dwight Howard re-aggravates his right shoulder in the 2nd quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies and would not return.

Howard was 0-4 shooting but score two free-throws before leaving the game.

After leaving the game the Lakers seemed to have lost their energy and their ability to control the paint.

Howard will be re-evaluated this coming Thursday.

49ers Are Going to Super Bowl 47

The San Francisco 49ers come from being down 17-0 to the Atlanta Falcons and earn their ticket to Super Bowl 47 in St. Louis February 3, 2013.

It was a collective team effort but favorite play makers  of the game included Collin Kaepernick, Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis.

Although being down 17-0 early in the game 2nd year quarterback Collin Kaepernick kept his cool and led his to to victory.

The last Super Bowl appearance for the 49ers dates back to 1994 where they took on and beat the San Diego Chargers.

The 49ers have five Super Bowl appearances and hold a perfect record.

I have no doubt they they will keep their winning streak alive by beating the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl 47 2013.

It's going to be a great game and the first time two brothers meat up as opposing head coaches in the Super Bowl.

The Los Angeles Kings Finally Raise Their Banner

After a 3 month delay, due to the lockout,  the Los Angeles Kings were finally able to raise their 2011-2012 Championship Banner today at Staples Center.

The celebration didn't last long at all as the Kings take the ice in their first game of the season but fall short 5-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Kings score 2-in-a-row after being down 4-0  but weren't able to score again.

Santa Ana Woman Gets 24-years for Stabbing New Mom & Stealing Baby

28-year-old Gabriela Osorio of Santa Ana attempted to suffocate a 26-year-old woman, stabbing her three times and fleeing with the woman's child.

The victim, whose identity is being protected, informed officers that one week prior to the incident she had struck up a friendship with Osorio and invited her to her home to come visit her newborn.

On the day of the attack, uninvited Osorio showed up to the victim's home.

The victim managed to escape the attack by biting off the tip of Osorio's finger to escape and then alerted family members who then called the police.

The family members were able to talk Osorio into surrendering the newborn, who was not hurt.

Osorio's intention was to murder the mother of the new born and kidnap her baby. She was arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping, prosecutors say.

Osorio plead guilty to one felony count of:

• attempted murder
• kidnapping a child under 14 years of age
• first-degree residential burglary
• criminal threats
• false imprisonment by violence and three felony counts of aggravated assault with a knife causing great bodily injury

Lakers Beat the Cavs to End Their Six Game Losing Streak

The Lakers last win was last year but tonight they upset the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-93 at Staples Center.

Six Lakers ended the game with double-figure scoring.

This was an impressive collective effort by the team. Let's keep it up team and go on a winning streak!

Next game will be this Tuesday as the Lakers host the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Lakers are currently seated 11th in the Western Standings.

They are a long way off but my Lakers will make the playoffs.

Not Looking Good In Lakerland

Let's face it; the Los Angeles Lakers season has been surprisingly disappointing thus far.

No one in their wildest dreams, including myself, would have ever thought that with a starting lineup with Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace and Steve Nash (although Steve was out the majority of it) that the Lakers would be positioned where they are right now.

You know things are bad when court-side season ticket holder & long time celebrity fan  Jack Nicholson leaves the game early this past Friday night as the Lakers get handled by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A lot is being said about the Lakers season.

Ex Lakers star Magic Johnson had the choice words to say about his former team after the loss:

"It's over for my Lakers. No playoffs, no nothing."

Now that statement must be crushing and discouraging to the team because I'm quite sure that some if not all of the players look up to him.

Kick me while I'm down why don't ya'.

Now it's tough to watch but I'm sure the Lakers will find the answer and get things turned around.

It being over for the Lakers; I don't think so.

They'll make it to the playoffs and do well.

Let's go team! I'm pulling for you.

American Idol 2013

Here we are again with a brand new year and a whole new season of American Idol.

Along with a new season comes three new judges, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.

Nothing against any of them but I think there's one too many. But let's see how it goes.

American Idol premieres this Wednesday January 16, 2013 on FOX.

I just hope my favorite wins this year. Since I've been watching they never do.

Director David R. Ellis Dead at Sixty

Director David Ellis best known for the 2006 action packed film "Snakes on a Plane" starring Samuel L. Jackson was found dead this past Monday morning in his hotel room in South Africa.

He was in Johannesburg set to work on a remake of the film "Kite".

So far details of his death are unclear and no cause of death has been released.

Phil Jackson & Jeanie Buss are Engaged

Former Chicago Bulls/Lakers head coach Phil Jackson finally asked Executive VP of the Los Angeles Lakers Jeanie Buss to marry him after more than ten years of dating.

Jeanie made the news of the engagement via her Twitter account.

She even shows off the beautiful ring!

The couple has yet to set a wedding date.
