So You're On A Campaign To Spread Lies About Me
As I was working on my computer this past Monday morning I received an email from Yelp informing me that I just received a new review for my business Aaron's Mobile Detailing. In then proceed to go to my Yelp profile to see what type of review did I receive. All along I was wondering if it was going to be from a recent job from a new or regular customer. Once I pulled my profile up I noticed that it was a one-star review from a name that I did not recognize. In this person's review they stated that they just saw me cut a young lady off in traffic, get out of my vehicle and commence to go off one her, yelling and screaming at her. They also advised others not to do business with me. My first thought was "What the heck is this?" There's no way this person saw me because the new vehicle that I'm working out doesn't have any of my business information on it as of yet. And I was at home at the time. My second thought was "This has to be a hater. Someone in the same line of work such as I spreading lies on me because they are jealous seeing me doing so well."
The funny part of it is that I didn't get too uptight about it. I applaud all the haters out there because it means I'm doing something right. When I first started my detailing business I used to go online & watch and study other businesses that seemed to be doing well and try to find out what they were doing to keep themselves ahead of the game. I looked up to them because I knew that's where I wanted to be.
After reading the review I decided to send this person a private message. I informed them that there's no way they could've seen me and that I thought that they where someone in the same line of work or working for someone in the same line of work. I also informed them if so; they really need to reconsider their occupation if they have to stoop so low spreading lies about their competitor. The last thing I noted to them was that I was going to report them to Yelp.
Now you'd think that my reply would be enough to make this person stop what they were doing. I don't think so, not this person.
Today I get an email from the BBB informing me that this person filed a complaint with Aaron's Mobile Detailing with the same story. They also told the BBB that they were going to blast me across the internet telling others not to do business with me.
I realized then that this person is on a campaign to bring down Aaron's Mobile Detailing. The BBB gives you the chance to respond to any complaint your business may receive. I put on my boxing gloves and definitely took advantage of the opportunity.
Be Careful With Your Lies Because They May Backfire On You
I quickly responded and gave the BBB my side of the story. Since this persons contact information was listed on the file I decided to send them an email informing them that if they kept this up I was definitely going to sue them for defamation of character. I'm no lawyer but I think it will be an easy victory for me. We'll see what happens next.Aaron Davis
